Like CBD, CBDA is a well-known compound that is native to cannabis plants, including marijuana and hemp. The two compounds have a natural relationship because CBDA is the acidic precursor to CBD.
CBDA has received less attention from the media and scientific researchers than CBD, but the advantages of CBDA also deserve recognition.

What is CBDA?
CBDA or cannabidiolic acid is one of the many cannabinoids that are produced by cannabis plants. CBDA was first isolated in 1996 and is most commonly found in raw marijuana and hemp. It is the acidic precursor to CBD.
In raw cannabis, including fresh cannabis leaves and flowers that have not been dried, cured, or heated, the active ingredients are in the form of acids such as CBDA.
Cannabis compounds undergo major transformations over time and dry or are exposed to heat. These inactive cannabinoid acids have an additional carboxyl ring attached to their molecular chain. Slowly over time or immediately after heating, they lose their acid carboxyl group and break down into more active compounds. For example, CBDA changes from its raw form to the coveted active ingredient CBD through a heating process known as decarboxylation.
People who juice raw cannabis enjoy a substantial portion of CBDA. The compound can also be found in raw hemp oil products, including CBD oil concentrate, which is kept in its raw, natural state. This CBDA-containing CBD crude oil is also contained in tinctures, capsules and much more.
Future of CBDA
In the short period of time that scientists were familiar with CBDA, the compound was not considered a useful, useful compound. CBDA is much more unstable compared to CBD due to the natural decarboxylation process.

At a cannabis conference in California in September 2019, Dr. Mechoulam announces that he and his team have found a way to convert unstable cannabinoid acids like CBDA into more stable compounds that still interact with the body and its systems in the same way]
Dr. Mechoulam said his research team was able to stabilize CBDA by converting it to a methyl ester derivative called HU-580. This new compound appears to affect the COX-2 enzyme and 5-HT receptors as well as CBDA.
Researchers have just started scraping the surface of CBDA and there is still a lot to learn about cannabinoid acid.
