5 new Canadian cannabis-infused subjects

Lisa Felepchuk January 28, 2020

Topicals have not attracted as much attention as other Legalization 2.0 releases, such as colorful bottles of cannabis selters or dosed sweets like chocolates and gums, but that doesn't mean they don't deserve our attention.

Preliminary studies on ointments and creams infused with cannabis have shown that they relieve muscle and joint pain and in some cases relieve inflammation caused by skin diseases such as acne and eczema.

There are also a lot of rumors about its effectiveness – just ask your friend who uses her gray ointment tub religiously to relieve migraine pain – but those who have worked on current issues swear by it.

In the layman's sense, topics are a collection of products, usually creams, ointments, oils or sprays, which are absorbed by the skin, but can also be used on the scalp, hair or nails. In Canada, 1,000 milligrams of THC is the maximum allowable dose per product, but the sky is the limit for CBD.

Here are five new topics coming to Canada this year.

LivRelief Transdermal CBD creams are sold in 50 ml pots in two doses: one with 125 mg THC and 125 mg CBD and one with only 250 mg CBD. Both LivRelief creams, launched in mid-February, use Delivra technology to penetrate the skin tissue and target the painful problem area.
